Excel in Hixson has been my 'go to' place in recent years. Being 83 and still active I have experienced knee problems but Christina has been tremendous in helping me avoid surgery. The most recent 'miracle' was my right shoulder which is all artificial from my right arm to my entire shoulder and collar bones due to a fall 15 years ago. I was afraid that I was going to have to have surgery again. However, Christina worked her magic again. After a few weeks with Christina working her magic my shoulder is in the best condition I've had in several years. Both my knees are also now better than I ever expected. THANK YOU CHRISTINA. Dr. Gross was absolutely great! The whole office was super sweet even the receptionist Jennifer was amazing! Definitely recommended the hixson location. They even checked up on me months after my sessions. What a great place! The Hixson office is efficient and super friendly and, of course most important, obviously very good at what they do. Catherine Miller is a very knowledgeable physical therapist who cares greatly about her patients. She explained theory behind practice so that I understood why and how therapy was helping me. If you’re in the Chattanooga area and dealing with back or hip issues, I cannot recommend Excel Rehab & Sports in Hixson enough. Katie there is truly exceptional. From the very first visit, she takes the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly. Her calm, steady presence—and even the tone of her voice—immediately puts you at ease. When you’re in pain, that kind of reassurance matters more than people realize. I’ve had physical therapy before, but I’ve never enjoyed the experience the way I did working with her. Her demeanor, her method, her patience—everything about how she practices is top-tier. Referred to Excel by my PCP for vertigo (BPPV).  Brian (Chris)Newsom was excellent.  He systematically determined the areas in my ears that were causing the vertigo.  He proceeded to isolate the corrective actions required. In three sessions and with home directed exercises the vertigo was effectively cured. Therapy from a shoulder replacement is doing great. Has now been 9 weeks and repaired shoulder is already feeling a lot more usable than the other shoulder. Chris has been great. Staff is very friendly. Wish I would have had surgery years ago

The hardest part of rehab for me is fear. My therapist has shown patience and understanding that was stronger than my fear. I’m not quite three weeks out of bilateral total hip replacements. I was nearly completely incapacitated when I went in for the surgeries. I didn’t believe I could walk again. I still struggle with switching from walker to cane… my fear could easily have stopped my recovery. Just finished the second week of therapy for neck and hip pain. My self diagnosis of two different injuries turned out to be wrong. Christine quickly determined that they were connected. Very happy with the treatment and the results.  The teamwork is amazing, especially the techs that keep the patients moving through their exercises. Making sure you’re doing it right. After PT for 2 different conditions over the past year, I highly recommend Excel Rehab & Sports in Hixson. Most recently William (Todd) Gross, along with assistants Riley, Brooke, and Amy, worked cheerfully and patiently to help my more recent condition improve. Todd was especially helpful and thorough, both in explaining and seeking therapies to solve my situation. Previously, Justin Pan had done excellent work for me as a physical therapist there.
